SLDC was incorporated in January, 1997 in the state of Connecticut and granted a tax exempt status in December 2000. Today, in addition to owning property on Whalley Avenue which is home to St Luke’s Steel Band, Music Haven and Beacon Self Directed Learning, it also,  it also, with  funds from the city, state and federal government has built an 18 unit apartment buildng called the Josephine A. Gray Senior Housing. SLDC looks forward to a future of partnership with all stakeholders to build a safe, useable, sustainable environment for all.
